Are you, or is someone, in mental health crisis and need urgent help or support?

Suicide Prevention: Safety Planning Resources

A safety plan is a personal tool that can help guide someone safely through a mental health crisis and/or their suicidal thoughts and impulses, and provides the opportunity to write down the things that can help the individual to recognise when they are starting to enter a potential mental health crisis and the things they can do to stay safe.

A safety plan is tailored to the individual, should be regularly updated and kept somewhere that is easy for them to access. It can also be a way for the individual being supported and the individual who is supporting to plan how to communicate and check in with each other going forwards.
